Preparation for an Exam
Your Custom-Made Preparation Programme
If you're planning to move onto college, sixth form, university or your top choice independent / grammar school, it is important to make sure you have an action plan in place. I can help with revision, especially if it's a topic you may not have recently covered in school. If your child is currently having difficulties at school, I'm happy to support by crafting an Individual Education Plan. This can then be triangulated with your child's full-time place of study and any relevant educators involved.

GCSE English Language - (Recommended 1-2 hours a week)
I'm happy to support you whether you're studying your qualification through OCR, AQA, Edexcel or WJEC. Be prepared to bring the correct materials to the lesson (e.g. text books or reading books). All resources will be provided.
GCSE English Literature - (Recommended 1-2 hours a week)
I'm happy to support you whether you're studying your qualification through OCR, AQA, Edexcel or WJEC. Be prepared to bring the correct materials to the lesson (e.g. text books or reading books). All resources will be provided.
A Level English Literature
A Level English Language
A Level English Literature and Language
For A Level, I am highly proficient with both the domestic (non-international) as well as the international qualifications. I have supported students with external examinations associated with EdexCel, AQA, OCR, WJEC and CIE.
Common Entrance Exams for Local Grammar Schools incl. 11+ and 13+ (usually held in November)
It is strongly recommended that you approach the tutor at least 2 years / 18 months before the candidate is due to sit the test. It is advised that tuition should take place for an hour a week and perhaps for two hours a week leading up to the exams. The summer holidays are also a good opportunity to slot in some extra sessions.
GCSE / A Level Coursework / Controlled Assessments
(usually centre-assessed)
I can assist with scaffolding an essay plan and reviewing drafts. Please be advised, however, that the final piece of centre-assessed work has to be written by the student themselves. It is important therefore to conform to each exam board's policy on supporting candidates with centre assessed work. Please review the policy (from the exam board) before you approach the tutor.
A Note for Candidates wishing to be Privately Entered for an External Examination
I am in touch with local exam centres which I can recommend.
