Although I am happy to discuss the tuition taking place at your property, I also have a fully furnished office based in the heart off Shinfield (just off Brookers Hill: RG2 9BX). My residence is situated between Wokingham and Reading. I live in a new development called Heritage Park. Alternatively, I can tutor your child on Zoom as I have experience of teaching international students online through a school based in New Zealand with headquarters in London (2021-2024).

Can you travel to me?
I have recent experience as a Senior Leader in Reading (2024) and I have also been employed as a Specialist English Teacher based in the Learning Support Department of an independent senior boys school in Maidenehead. I have also taught a range of vocational students for both Activate Learning (2013-2016) and The Windsor Forest Colleges Group (2018-2019). I was employed as a Head of English for a small multi academy trust partnered with Upton Court Grammar School (2019-2021) and I have also taught in a range of comprehensive co-educational secondary schools across Reading Borough Council (2007-2009), Wokingham Borough Council (2009-2012) and Bracknell Forest Council (2016-2018).

What teaching experience do you have?

My rates are very much dependent on whether you have been referred through an agency and what the agency fees are. Irrespective of key stage and ability, my rates range from £50.00 to £60.00 per hour. Discounts are available for families who require a tutor for more than one child in the family. What are your rates?
Yes - I qualified from Oxford Brookes University with a PGCE in Secondary English in 2007. I also have a BA Hons English Degree from The University of Reading (2006) and a PG Dip in English and Language in Education (2012). In January 2015, I qualified as an internal assessor for iGCSE English through Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). In June 2016, I achieved my MA in Education Studies, through Oxford Brookes University. In addition, I recently graduated from The University of Reading (2024) with a Postgraduate degree in Children's Literature. Can I take up references?
You are very welcome to take up references. I can provide an excellent character reference and professional reference. Both are available upon request.
Do you have a CRB or DBS check?

I do have an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check which is an 'Enhanced Disclosure.' In addition, I subscribe to the government's update service which means my DBS can be verified by any potential employer at anytime. I also hold a valid International Police Check from Crimson Education.
